New missions in the Black Sea theatre

A new day begins in the Black Sea theatre and at least two surveillance missions are underway:

  • an RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) which took off from Souda Bay AB is orbiting northeastern Romania near the Moldovan border. Provided that during the flight the aircraft was refuelled by a USAF Boeing KC-135R (reg. 63-8871)
  • a Northrop Grumman RQ-4D (reg. MM-AV-SA-001) from Sigonella AB is arriving in the area to carry out, probably, a SIGINT mission over the Black Sea
