Italian commitment in the NATO’s eastern flank

Double mission for Italian aircraft today on the eastern flank of the NATO deployment:

  • A Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62227), which took off from Grosseto AB carried out an AAR mission over Romania in favour of Alliance fighters engaged in Combat Air Patrol missions
  • Instead, a Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293 – callsign PERSEO71) departed from Grosseto AB and is conducting (14:00 CET) a surveillance mission over eastern Poland.
