At this time, there are several surveillance missions on NATO’s eastern flank, in particular eastern Poland.
Two AWACS are deployed, a NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90451), which took off from Bucharest, and a Turkish Air Force Boeing E-7T (reg. 13-004) which took off from Konya AB, Turkey.
A USAF Boeing E-8C Join STAR (reg. 94-0285, callsign REDEYE6), airborne ground surveillance, battle management and command and control aircraft, also operated in the area.
Finally, over eastern Poland, a NATO Northrop Grumman RQ-4D (reg. MM-AV-SA-001) is also in the air (but with ADS-B transponder switched off) which took off from Sigonella
