Two Italian Air Force Lockheed C-130Js (reg. MM62191 & MM62189) departed today from Pisa San Giusto AB with a new load of men and vehicles bound for Beirut.

The first one is expected in Beirut in about an hour (18:30 CET), the second landed an hour ago.

After landing in Lebanon, the Italian rescue team will move to Syria. On board are four ambulances, 14 doctors, as well as medicines and medical supplies offered by the San Donato Group of the Piedmont region, which will be sent to the Syrian Red Crescent to assist the earthquake-stricken population.
