An Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293 – callsign PESREO71) is currently operating over eastern Poland near the Ukrainian border. The mission it is carrying out is a surveillance mission.
Interestingly, the aircraft is not operating from Italy but from the Romanian airbase of Mihail Kogălniceanu , where the CAEW landed last week.
Since then, it has carried out at least one surveillance mission, on 20 February last, taking off from the Romanian air base where four Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons are also stationed.
