New Russian operation in the central Mediterranean?

Share

Are we facing a new Russian navy operation in the central Mediterranean?

At the moment we know that the Russian Navy tanker Kola (IMO: 6720004, MMSI: 273318510), which has several times in the past carried out missions together with other naval units of the Russian Navy, is sailing westward in the eastern Mediterranean between Cyprus and Crete.

The unit, as evidenced by the tweet below, sends a Morse code message each evening reporting the weather conditions detected at her location. This allows us to understand its course and the speed of her movement.

We will continue to monitor her movements to understand where she’s headed and whether she’s accompanied by other units.

  • Russians should not be near any european countries or in there waters
Why should russia be allowed to do this
They should be banned from entering any waters what belong to european nato and countries who do not want them
We uk goverment should close off english channel and french should do the same stop rusdia moving its navy they are murdering innocent people by the millions

    • Things are very different in real life you know! Do you honestly imagine the royal navy sailing out into the english channel and radioing across to a russian warship to stop and turn around as its not allowed to go on its peaceful way to its destination? And why? Uk isnt at war with russia, neither is france ! Stop being silly and realize theres a whole big world out there and things are done a certain way for a reason and we are lucky so far that people with atleast a little sense are in charge!

    • Why bother them am show other countries have their ships floating all over the place that we don’t worry about them you people just causing problems in the world leave them alone

    • It’s being in International waters, plus the channel can’t be closed, cos there’s a strip called International waters

  • Its time we learned the lessons of ww2 and challenge russia everywhere including Ukrain. They have caused trouble around the world for decades. Invading poland with their friends the nazis in 1939 and again in 45. After that came n korea, n vietnam, then libia, northern ireland, syria, georgia, the list goes on. Nato should stop playing chicken, putin is a murdering turd its time he was assasinated.

  • Well I suppose if they don’t appear in the surface pictures then they should be in the undersurface picture. It’s also easy to drop off or pick up items, like an assassination team. Look to see who’s recently departed around the area.

  • Freedom of movement is a right for all individuals, nations and military assets.

Is it not a free world as espoused by the West and International Law?

  • Turkey should not be allowing Russian vessels into the Mediterranean as they are part of NATO. And why can’t NATO accept Ukraine in NATO to force Russia to stop their so called special operations

  • Russia is a terrorist state
When will people realize that this is world war 3
Putin is a Nazi, NATO was set up to stop another Hitler
well we have another Hitler but we sit back and do nothing just like we did in 1938

  • Who knows could be one of their subs in trouble or installing some wicked devices in the depth of the ocean

  • Yeah indeed they’re murdering innocent people just like the UA’s and is colony’s does all time is true a bitter pill good to someone else the all western empire was build with blood money every land mark has blood attached to it what’s is New about Russia special operations . hypocrisy in the name of human rights and international laws which you constantly do violate to feed your wealth its naïve to think democracy is a Coca-Cola to taste the same.

  • Nato know what they are doing, leave them alone, take care and look out for each other, army, navy and airforce of Nato

    • They should blow poutin head and make a big hole were is so like this you let fill the hole whit rain water and named. Vladmir poutin lake !
