Intense activity in the Black Sea area

Intense surveillance activity this morning in the Black Sea theatre. At least three NATO assets are at work these minutes.

An Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303 – callsign PERSEO71) took off from Constanta and is orbiting the eastern part of Romania, approximately in the same area where a USN Lockheed EP-3E (reg. 159887), from Souda Bay AB.

In the same are is operating also an USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4131 – callsign JAKE11).

Also coming to the area is an RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) which will operate over the Black Sea.
As is now the practice, the aircraft will be escorted by a pair of Eurofighters that took off from Cyprus supported in turn by an Airbus KC.2 (reg. ZZ338)
