ATRs over Ionian Sea

A double patrol mission in the Ionian Sea this morning by two Italian assets.

The first, an Italian Air Force ATR P-72A MPA (reg. MM62280), took off from Sigonella AB and flew north up the coast of Calabria to the border with the Adriatic Sea.

The second, an ATR P-72B of Italian Customs (reg. MM62311), took off from Catania and patrolled the Ionian Sea further out to the Greek FIR.

It is very likely that the two missions were not related to each other.

Both aircraft returned to their home bases between 13:30 and 14:00 CEST.
