This morning south of Crete the Russian Navy tanker Kola (MMSI: 273318510) was detected sailing westwards (Speed 10.5 kn; Course 283°).
We do not know whether it is sailing alone or not.
Yesterday, the other tanker of the Russian Mediterranean fleet, the Vyazma (MMSI: 273547800), was in Alexandria. She arrived in the Mediterranean at the end of May. We do not know whether it is sailing alone or not in this case either.
It is unlikely that both ships left the Tartus base on their own, also considering the fact that the activity of Russian units in the Mediterranean has been very low for some time and that it is therefore plausible that some new mission is underway.
