USAF

An (almost) usual mission

Working Sunday for an USAF Global Hawk (reg. 11-2046 – callsign FORTE12) based at NAS Sigonella.

The aircraft, which took off around 07:00 CEST from the Sicilian base, headed for the Black Sea where it is operating south of the Crimea.

However, it is interesting to note that around 16:00 the drone headed back towards Sicily, but once it reached the border between Greece and Bulgaria, it turned back towards the Black Sea.

It is possible that the drone had some problem (communication?) which was then remotely resolved and the mission was resumed as normal.
