EUFOR mission

An unusual (but already tracked in the past) mission was carried out by an Italian Air Force P-72A (reg. MM62279, callsign EUFOR88) today.

The aircraft, which took off from Sigonella, has orbited over Bosnia. As you can guess from its callsign, the mission is being carried out in support of the Althea mission, formally the European Union Force Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR).

The P-72A is not only a maritime patrol aircraft but can also acquire information on targets, the geographical situation, the weather situation and the position of contacts.

The aircraft operated over Bosnia with the ADS-B transponder switched off.
