For the NATO Heads of State and Government summit in Vilnius, several surveillance missions took place today to ensure the security of the meeting.
Currently (22:30 CEST) surveillance is ensured by a NATO Northrop Grumman RQ-4D (reg. MM-AV-SA0016 – c/s MAGMA10) which took off this morning from Sigonella AB and an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303 – c/s PERSEO71) which took off from Pratica di Mare AB.
Combat Air Patrol missions are ongoing on a continuous basis, supported by tankers from several NATO countries.
