We have seen how Greece is being hit by violent fires, but the situation in southern Italy is also becoming critical.

Especially between Sicily and Calabria, 7 Canadair CL-415 firefighters are currently deployed (reg. I-DPCZ, I-DPCR, I-DPCG, I-DPCF, I-DPCE, I-DPCP, I-DPCO).
Some of them took off from Lamezia Terme while others arrived directly from Rome Ciampino.

Of note, an Italian Air Force Leonardo HH139B (reg. MM82029), which took off from the Trapani base, is also at work over eastern Sicily.
