Various missions took place today in the central Mediterranean. We were able to track at least three flights made by Italian military assets that are likely to be linked to the migrant issue:

  • Italian Customs ATR 42MP (reg. MM62230) en route to the border of Tunisian territorial waters
  • Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62279) returning from the area between Lampedusa, Tunisia and Libya (operating with the transponder turned off, we are unable to say where it operated exactly)
  • Italian Coast Guard ATR 42MP (reg. MM622709) returning from a mission carried out in the Ionian Sea
