The NATO Tiger Meet 2023 exercise has begun at Gioia del Colle AB.
The start of air operations is evident from the tracks we collected this morning, although we are aware that it is not possible to track all flight activity (especially that of fighters).
However, it is interesting to see what we have been able to track:
- A NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90452) from Trapani orbiting over the Adriatic Sea
- An Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303) flying between the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas
- A Learjet 45 (reg. D-CGFB) from the GDF (Gesellschaft für Flugzielhandlung) company conducting training activities simulating targets for aircraft involved in the exercise
- A pair of German Air Force Tornado ECR (c/s LAMBO01/02)
The 2023 edition of the NATO Tiger Meet will be held from October 2nd to 13th at the Italian Air Force’s Gioia del Colle military airport. This is one of the most important and articulated international exercises, that aims to sharpen cooperation and facilitate the sharing of training experiences among the Armed Forces of the Allied Countries.
