NATO’s eyes on the Black Sea

New day of surveillance missions in the Black Sea theater.

It is interesting to note how the US Navy Boeing P-8A aircraft from Sigonella alternate in the area continuously, leaving no moment without surveillance.

It’s also interesting to note that a RAF Boeing RC-135W (registration ZZ665) has operated in the area, partly over the Black Sea but always within the Bulgarian or Romanian FIR.

Unlike missions that venture deeper into the Black Sea, today there doesn’t seem to have been air escort for the British Rivet Joint.
