Triton searching for?

New mission over the Eastern Mediterranean for a Triton drone (reg. 169659 – c/s BLACKCAT5) of the US Navy, which took off from NAS Sigonella.

The drone has been orbiting for more than six hours off the coast of Egypt, near the exit of the Suez Canal, in an area where maritime tracking sites do not report the presence of vessels.

It is difficult to determine what the Triton is “observing,” but it could potentially involve a vessel not covered by AIS (Automatic Identification System) signals, possibly a military ship.
