New Italian Shipment for Ukraine

This afternoon, an Italian Air Force Leonardo C-27J “Spartan” (reg. MM62220) operated a flight to Rzeszów, Poland, taking off from the Pisa base.

Rzeszów is the hub where all military aid directed to Ukraine converges, thus leading us to assume that the Italian aircraft was transporting military equipment destined for Kiev. The Spartan has been used only a few times in such missions in the past, with larger C-130s or KC-767As usually being preferred.

Italy has not disclosed in detail the type of material destined for Ukraine
