Italian F-35 tracked!

Today and tomorrow the COMAO 19-08 air exercise takes place over the central Adriatic Sea.

This afternoon we tracked an Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767A (MM62229) performing an aerial refueling mission during the exercise.

Shortly after we tracked a Lockheed Martin F-35 aircraft heading south. The registration of this aircraft was not correct (it is a standard registration associated to different aircraft) and in a first time we thought it was a British aircraft.

But the track of the aircraft was clear: it was departed and landed in Amendola AB (the home of the Italian F-35s) and so it was in all probability an Italian aircraft.

In the past we already tracked an Italian F-35 in flight (during an exercise in Greece) but today is the first time that we tracked a Lightning II over Italy.
