Italian C-130J to Benghazi?

Yesterday evening around 7:00PM CET an Italian Air Force Lockheed Martin C-130J (reg. MM62177 – callsign IAM4612 ) left Palermo south eastbound. When the aircraft was off Sicilian coast (8:00PM) the signal was lost.

Around 11:00 PM CET we tacked again the aircraft this time in the opposite way, this time to Sicily.

So we’ve lost the signal for about 2 hours. During this time where could the plane have gone? It’s about an hour of flight (round trip); the most plausible hypothesis would be Benghazi (with a short stop) but at the moment no other data is available that can make us say with precision the destination of the flight.
