A Turkish Air Force Boeing E-7T (reg. 13-003 – callsign TURAF12) departed this morning from Konya AB, central Turkey, is making a surveillance mission over central Mediterranan Sea between Malta and Libya.

Four Boeing 737 AEW&C Peace Eagle aircraft, along with ground support systems were ordered by the Turkish Air Force. The first Peace Eagle aircraft, named Kuzey (meaning North) was formally accepted into Turkish Air Force inventory on 21 February 2014. The remaining three aircraft was named Güney (South), Doğu (East) and Batı (West). The fourth and final Peace Eagle aircraft was delivered in December 2015.
