In the same area the Turkish drill ship “Yavuz” begin drilling works in the “Aphrodite” gas filed, located at the exploratory drilling block 12 in the Cyprus maritime Exclusive Economic Zone.

In the last months Turkey confirms to continue with its drilling program in areas of the East Mediterranean claimed by Cyprus, despite the EU Council adopting a framework for sanctions that can be imposed against those held responsible.
