Yesterday an artillery shell hit the interior of the Abu Sitta naval base in Tripoli, about 250 meters from the Italian Navy ship Gorgona (A5347).

About seven more shots fell into the sea. From what has been learned, neither the ship nor the Italian personnel was involved in the attack.
As a precaution, however, the unit left the port of Tripoli and moved to the limit of Libyan territorial waters.

“Gorgona” works in technical support to Libyan Navy units.
