As you know aircraft operating in IRINI operation switch off their ADS-B transponder when they arrive over the area of operations (central Mediterranean sea).
Today we had a surprise when our friend Sergio Scandura tracked a Swearingen Metroliner SW-4 (N919CK) departed from Sigonella AB making all its mission with the ADS-B transponder turned on.
The aircraft made its mission over the central Mediterranean sea and landed in Sigonella around 11:30.
The main goal of EUNAVFOR MED IRINI is to support the implementation of the arms embargo imposed by the UN Security Council to Libya.
