NATO AWACS on task

A NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90456) has departed this morning from Konya AB, central Turkey.

The aircraft is now orbiting over eastern Mediterranean Sea south of Cyprus.

The AWACS is most likely on a mission to monitor Russian naval units in the area. In recent days similar missions have been carried out by an Italian CAEW and a Turkish Navy ATR MPA
