This morning we have tracked an intense surveillance activity over the Baltic Sea, particularly near the Russian city of St. Petersburg.

Specifically, four different aircraft are employed for these activities:

  • Swedish Air Force Gulfstream Korpen (reg. 102002) over Eastern Finland, focusing on the northern area of St. Petersburg;
  • a RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ665) orbiting over southern Finland, north of St. Petersburg;
  • a NATO Boeing 3A (reg. LX-N90454) AWACS orbiting west of St. Petersburg, over Estonia;
  • an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303) also orbiting west of St. Petersburg, over Estonia too.
