The last asset of the Italian expedition flying to Alaska

Yesterday we managed to get a clear picture of which Italian assets are en route to Alaska (HERE YOU CAN FIND THE ARTICLE).

Compared to what was known, one asset was still missing, a CAEW which would also participate in the exercise. Today, even the last asset has taken flight to Alaska. Departing this morning from Pratica di Mare AB, the Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293) made a stop in Tromso, Norway, before heading, via the polar route, towards Alaska (where it should arrive around 20:15 CEST).

At this point, we can accurately trace which Italian assets will be involved in the Red Flag. These are:

  • 6x Eurofighter F-2000A
  • 6x F-35A
  • 1x Gulfstream E.550 CAEW
  • 4x Boeing KC-767A
  • 2x Lockheed Martin C-130J

For a total of 19 aircraft. One of the largest deployments of aircraft by the Italian Air Force in recent years, with an extremely complex logistical operation behind it.
