Close encounters over eastern Mediterranean sea

Over the past few days, the Russian Navy has carried out an extensive air and sea exercise in the eastern Mediterranean.

The CSG of the Charles de Gaulle (R91) is in the area and Dassault Rafale departed from the French aircraft carrier have been monitoring Russian aircraft movements.

Photos released by the French Ministry of Defence show Tupolev Tu-22Ms and Sukhoi Su-30SMs during the exercises.
