NATO exercises continue in the Mediterranean.

Several NATO frigates are moored at the port of Catania:

  • Spanish Navy frigate Blas de Lezo (F103)
  • Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Montreal (FFH336)
  • Royal Navy  patrol vessel HMS Trent (P224)
  • Turkish Navy Gabya class frigate

The “Dynamic Manta 22” anti-submarine exercise begins on February 21. Ships, submarines, as well as aircraft and personnel from eight Allied nations are converging in the Central Mediterranean Sea for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare training.
