On 24 february an Ukrainian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker (reg. 23 Blue) was intercepted by a couple of Romanian Air Force F-16s that escorted it to the RoAF 95th Air Base in the northeastern Romanian city of Bacău, where it landed.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defence, Vasile Dîncu , said in a statemen that “After landing, the Ukrainian military pilot made himself available to the Romanian authorities, and the legal measures required in these situations will be taken.”
Today, the aircraft left the airbase escorted by two Romanian Mig-21s. Its destination is unknown.
