At least two NATO naval units are in the southern Aegean at this time:
- USNavy destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG-57) left the Turkish naval base of Aksaz yesterday.
- Norwegian Navy frigate HNoMS Fridtjof Nansen (F310) arrived in Souda yesterday. The unit is part of Truman’s CSG which is now in the Ionian Sea.
