The Italian presidential plane flying over Libya

We saw that, especially during the crisis with Algeria, some French Air Force transport planes used Libyan airspace for flights to Central / Western Africa.

We have then recorded Italian flights to Tripoli and Misurata several times, but this is the first time we have recorded the transit through Libyan airspace of an Italian state aircraft, even, in this specific case, carrying the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, to Mozambique.

The aircraft, an Italian Air Force Airbus A319CJ (reg. MM62174, f/n IAM9001) took off from Rome Ciampino at 09:37 CEST and it has arrived on Libyan territory near Sirte, continuing its flight southwards.
