Busy Black Sea

Increased surveillance missions in the Black Sea area. They have been operating in the area since this morning:

  • USNavy Lockheed EP-3E (reg. 159893), departed from Souda Bay AB, and flying over the Danube Delta;
  • USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 10-2045, callsign FORTE12), departed from NAS Sigonella, flying over the Black Sea and covering a slightly larger area than usual, also flying further east than the last missions

They have now joined

  • NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90448) orbiting eastern Romania
  • RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) conducting a SIGINT mission over the Black Sea.

It is interesting to point out the Rivet Joint mission because the USAF Global Hawk is operating in the same area. Usually, the two assets do not operate simultaneously in the same area
