As fighting increases in south-eastern Ukraine, NATO forces in turn increase their engagement in the vicinity of this area:

  • USN Lockheed EP-3E (reg. 159893) in flight over eastern Romania;
  • USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – callsign FORTE10) carrying out a surveillance flight over the Black Sea south of Crimea;
  • USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4138 – callsign HOMER21), departed from Souda Bay AB, orbiting over eastern Romania
  • Turkish Air Force Boeing E-7T departed from Konya AB operating in the same area
