Eyes on Italy

Two different air surveillance missions are currently being carried out within Italian airspace:

  • a NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90451) which took off from Trapani Birgi AB carried out several orbits (lasting 3 hours) over central Italy;
  • an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E-550 CAEW (reg. MM62303), departed from Pratica di Mare AB, carried out a similar mission first over the southern Tyrrhenian Sea and now over the northern one.
