The Russian Navy tug “Sergey Balk” is currently sailing off the coast of Algiers westbound.

As we had assumed, the tug, which departed last week from Tartus, Syria, is not sailing alone but is escorting a Kilo Class submarine that is therefore leaving the Mediterranean.

***BREAKING***

One of two KILO Class submarines #Russia has in Mediterrean, as outer defense to #Ukraine Invasion, now has to leave. Appears to not be being replaced, leaving just one KILO sub in Tartus.

Another Kilo-class submarine and a Yasen-class submarine, probably the Severodvinsk, remain in the Mediterranean.
