In the past few days we have seen a number of surveillance missions carried out at the same time over the eastern Mediterranean and northern Iraq.

Today we are witnessing something similar again, but with two unusual players.

Both took off from Souda Bay AB this morning two RC-135s are performing two separate (but probably related) surveillance missions:

  • USAF Boeing RC-135U (reg. 64-14849 – HOMER11) flying over the eastern Mediterranean off Syria
  • RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ665) flying over northern Iraq near the Syrian border.
