New morning of intense surveillance on NATO’s eastern flank.
There are at least three missions underway on the Alliance’s eastern flank, the aim of which is to monitor what is happening in Ukraine, Belarus, Kaliningrad enclave and Transnistria.
An Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293), based in Romania, is orbiting near the border between Poland and Belarus, while an USAF Boeing E-8C Joint STARS (reg. 02-9111) is performed a similar mission near the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
Further south, over Romania, a USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4131) is carrying out a surveillance mission over the country.
