Busy skies over Libya

We have never before this afternoon tracked two Italian Air Force transport aircraft missions to Libya in such a short time.

The Leonardo C-27J (reg. MM62223) landed in Misrata around 1 p.m. and less than an hour later took off again for Pisa San Giusto AB.

At the same time a Lockheed C-130J (reg. MM62196) took off from Pisa with the same destination in Libya where it landed around 3:30 p.m.

Two Turkish Air Force A400Ms also landed in Libya today (you can see here the route of the first one, reg. 18-003, using the “new” northern route to Libya).
