Today, SIGINT (Signals intelligence) missions in the Black Sea theatre are numerous.

Several assets are at work, after we tracked several missions yesterday as well (with the return of USAF drones over the Black Sea).
Today we tracked:

  • Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303 – c/s PERSEO71) orbiting eastern Romania
  • RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) in action in the same area;
  • French Air Force Beech B350 (reg. F-RACG), arrived in theatre yesterday and today already at work over the Black Sea
  • Turkish Air Force ATR P-72MPA (c/s MARTI82) patrolling the western Black Sea

We do not know whether this activity is related to the now imminent Ukrainian offensive, but there is no doubt that surveillance and data acquisition missions have become much more numerous than usual in recent days.
