Libya calling

Today we recorded the flight of an Italian Air Force Lockheed C-130J (reg. MM62177) from Italy (Pisa San Giusto AB) to Libya.

The flight landed in Misrata at around 13:45 CEST and was on the ground for about an hour. It did not return to Italy at that point, however, but headed towards Tripoli, where it landed at 15:10 CEST.

The Hercules then departed for Italy at 16:20.

This is not the first time that we have recorded an internal Libyan flight operated by an Italian Hercules, but it is nevertheless a rare occurrence.
