USS Gerald Ford back in the Adriatic Sea

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the world’s largest aircraft carrier, has returned to the southern Adriatic after a two-week absence.

During its absence, the U.S. aircraft carrier visited Antalya, Turkey, where it conducted a series of exercises with the Turkish Navy and Air Force. The exercises included air combat training, maritime strike operations, and anti-submarine warfare training.

The Ford is now back in its “classic” area of operations, where its aircraft assets can also operate to monitor the eastern flank of the Atlantic Alliance.

The carrier is scheduled to visit Trieste, Italy, on September 17.
