New RAAF surveillance mission

This morning we’re tracking a new surveillance mission carried out by a RAAF Boeing E-7A (reg. A30-002) over southern Poland.

Australia has deployed a Boeing E-7A Wedgetail aircraft to Germany, where it will be used to help monitor military and humanitarian supplies entering Ukraine. The deployment is part of Australia’s ongoing support for Ukraine, which has also included direct military aid and training support.

The Wedgetail is a sophisticated airborne early warning and control aircraft that can track hundreds of aircraft and ships at once.

The aircraft will be based in Ramstein at least until April.
