The Russian Navy frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov entered the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal.
The ship follows the cruiser Varyag, which arrived in the Mediterranean on April 1st. Russian media report that before crossing the canal, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov made a visit to the Egyptian port of Safaga.
Both the Varyag and the Marshal Shaposhnikov are expected to operate in the Mediterranean for a short time before heading towards South America.
