IRINI mission for Greek AEW&C

Surveillance mission this morning for this Hellenic Air Force Embraer ERJ-145 AEW&C (reg. 729 – c/s OURANOS31).

The aircraft is departed Elefsis AB, near Athens, at 07:15 CEST southbound and now (10:15) is orbiting south west of Peloponnese over central Mediterranean Sea.

The Greek AWACS is one of IRINI assets. The Operation, named EUNAVFOR MED IRINI  (Greek for “peace”) was thus launched on 31 March 2020and its core task is the implementation of the UN arms embargo on Libya through the use of aerialsatellite and maritime assets.
