The Italian Air Force and Italian Navy continue their expedition in the Far East. After the Pitch Black 24 exercise held in Australia in last 3 weeks, the Rising Sun 2024 exercise is about to begin, which will take place in the Pacific and involve Italian aircraft based in Japan (in addition to the aircraft carrier Cavour).

This afternoon (evening in Japan), the Italian aircraft arrived at the airbase in Misawa, Japan.

We tracked three Boeing KC-767A (MM6226/8/9), a Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293), and a Lockheed C-130J (MM62195) in flight. We also recall that the Italian assets include three F-2000A (one was lost in Australia during a training mission) and four Lockheed F-35A (in addition to the Harriers and F-35Bs embarked on the Cavour).
