Russian Su-27 fighter jets (departed from Belbek AB) intercepted US strategic bombers in flight over Black Sea off Crimea.
The USAF B-52H (61-0038) was involved in round-trip mission from Minot AFB to Europe.
“On June 17, 2019, crews of Russian Su-27 fighter jets that were on combat duty intercepted US B-52H bombers that were approaching Russia’s state border from the Black and Baltic Seas,” a Russian spokesman said, adding that the US aircraft did not violate Russia’s border.
In Belbek Air Base near Sevastopol, Russian Air force based at least 20 Russia Air Force Sukhoi Su-27 and Su-30.
