New ISR mission for Swedish Korpen

The second mission of the day is in progress for this Swedish Air Force Gulfstream S102B “Korpen” (12003) Electronic Intelligence plane. The ISR mission is made to acquire new baseline data for Russian assets (S-400 missile system) deployed in Syria.

The aircraft is based in Souda Bay AB, Crete, Greece.

This is the second deployment of this year of an S102B to the Mediterranean after one of the Swedish Air Force’s two Korpens, which are normally assigned to 73 Signals Intelligence at Linköping in southern Sweden, operated from Cyprus for just over a week in May 2019.
