A Libyan Airlines Airbus A320 (reg. 5A-LAP – flight number LN2) landed in Rome from Tripoli around 18:12 CET. Aboard the aircraft there was the Minister of the Interior of Libya’s Government of National Accord , Fathi Bashagha, a politician close to Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Serraj.

Bashagha has come to Italy for contacts with the Americans: he should meet the US ambassador in Tunis, Donald Blome.

The news of Bashagha’s visit to Italy comes the day after the decision by the head of the government of Tripoli, Fayez al-Serraj, not to meet Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte at Palazzo Chigi, where he was expected.
