Today our friend Sergio Scandura tracked an usual IRIN flight usually not trackable: a Swearingen Merlin IVC (N919CK) made a surveillance mission as IRINI asset over central Mediterranean Sea off eastern Libya.
Usually aircraft operating IRINI mission turn off their ADS-B transponders but this time we’ve the entire track of the mission (forgetfulness?).
The aircraft left Sigonella AB at 05:43 CEST and returned to the Sicilian airport around 12 CEST.
The main goal of EUNAVFOR MED IRINI is to support the implementation of the arms embargo imposed by the UN Security Council to Libya.
